Senate Budget hearings continue this week

Senate hearings on the biennial state budget (H.B. 1) continue this week with public testimony on the Medicaid portions of the budget tomorrow and public testimony on other portions of the budget on Wednesday and Thursday.  Any proposed amendments to the House–passed version of the bill are due in the Senate Finance Committee Chair’s office on Friday.

It is anticipated the Committee will unveil a new substitute version of the budget next Tuesday, May 26th with the goal of passing the bill out of committee and the full Senate during the week of June 1st.  This will then give a joint House and Senate Conference Committee until the end of June to work out the differences in the House and Senate versions of the budget bill.
