ODI Provides Guidance on COBRA & Ohio Continuation Coverage
relating to Federal Premium Assistance

Last week Governor Strickland signed into law Ohio’s transportation budget (H.B. 2) which contains language relating to Ohio’s implementation of the 65% premium assistance for persons eligible for Ohio’s state mini-COBRA law (applicable to employers of less than 20 employees).  The Ohio Department of Insurance has prepared guidance documents to address questions concerning both premium assistance for COBRA eligible and those eligible under Ohio’s state continuation law.  We have received calls from several OAHU members inquiring about the COBRA premium assistance program, so you are strongly encouraged to click on the following link to have your questions answered.
